About the Vineyard:
“For generations, the Morando family has been a protagonist in the Piedmontese winemaking world of Monferrato and Langa. With the Vigneti e Cantine ENRICO MORANDO brand dedicated to the modern large-scale distribution channel, he owns two farms, the first in Castagnole Monferrato, in the province of Asti, 100 hectares of vines mainly in Ruchè, the second in Castiglione Tinella, in the province of Cuneo, 10 hectares of vineyards, where mainly Moscato wine is produced. The production philosophy of the family for this brand is centered on a strong quality-price ratio, keeping the quality assumptions expressed by the “terroir” of Monferrato and Langa indissoluble. Wines that are the reading of life, interpretation of needs and desires, in the constant sign of productive modernity and daily consumption.
About the Wine:
“Grignolino is one of the great characteristic wines of the historic Piedmontese winemaking tradition. Its value is even higher by the not excessive quantity produced. The nice and unique name “Grignolino” almost certainly derives from “grignole” term with which the grape seeds are indicated in the characteristic local dialect, of which the berries abound. Excellent served slightly chilled with juicy fish. It is a wine that makes you smile for its great agility and ease of drinking while being full-bodied and well structured.”
Faint ruby-red which tends to orange shades after the first 18 months in the bottle. Flowery and delicate with hints of marasca cherry and small berries and delicate exterior of oriental spices. Dry and harmonious, warm and pleasant, with a refined bitter aftertaste.
