About the Vineyard:
Le Vieux Lavoir is one of two estates owned by the Roudil Jouffret family, who have been making wine in the region for six generations. Domaine le Vieux Lavoir is named for the old wash house in Tavel, pictured below. It was the inspiration for the architecture of the state of the art winery and cellar built on the estate in 2002. Between this estate, and their other vineyards at Le Vieux Moulin, they produce a range of wines from Tavel, Lirac, Côtes du Rhône, Vin de pays du Gard, and Vin de pays d’oc, made in a masterly manner from Grenache, Syrah, Cinsault, old Carignan and other local indigenous varietals.
Tasting Notes:
Pale pink color and very aromatic nose of white fruit and citrus. Delicate on the palate, with flavours of citrus and red berries and great freshness. Well balanced with good length.
